ENTERTAINMENT HALLWAY This area features and celebrates those who entertained us with their writings, their acting or their magic! There are items of interest from the career of UNCLE ORRIE, the character created and portrayed by Joe Rockhold on his children’s show on WHIO television in Dayton. (Joe Rockhold was very active in Highland County Historical Society after his retirement from television. His home was Buck House, directly across the street from Highland House.) These items can be viewed on the steps as well as information regarding the career of DANIEL LLORDS, world renowned marionettes creator and showman. In addition, magicians, Howard Smith and Steve Faris have many items representing their careers. Of prominent interest in this area is the large display of items from the Colony Theater. We are particularly proud of artist Milton Caniff, who drew the “Terry and the Pirates” and “Steve Canyon” cartoon strips.
